Old brass King's crown pouch badge for the South African Mounted Rifles (S.A.M.R.) - Zuid Afrikaanse Bereden Schutters (Z.A.B.S.) (Dutch language). Worn 1913 to 1926.

Incomplete with missing two arrows and chains. Good condition with screw fasteners intact.

The S.A.M.R. were formed on 1 April 1913 from the existing Permanent and Police Forces of the South African provinces. The last regiment was disbanded in 1926.
